Pro(b)LONG – Increasing the Competitiveness of Marina Lab by Extending the Shelf Life of Probiotic Drinks

Project Overview:

The Pro(b)LONG project focuses on extending the shelf life of the probiotic product Acidosalus®, enabling improved product stability, market expansion, and enhanced company competitiveness. The research is conducted in collaboration with the Ruđer Bošković Institute and includes the analysis of probiotic culture stability and the examination of folic acid content to further enhance the product’s nutritional value.

Project Goals and Expected Outcomes:

  • Extend the shelf life of Acidosalus® to 180 days while maintaining probiotic efficacy.
  • Enhance product competitiveness through improved stability and quality.
  • Enable market expansion due to the longer shelf life and optimized storage conditions.
  • Confirm the presence of folic acid in the probiotic preparation, paving the way for the development of a functional product with additional health benefits.

  • Total project value: EUR 10,695.14
  • Amount co-funded by the European Union: EUR 9,090.86
